Diabetes supplies and the NDSS at Pacific Fair

Yes, Priceline Pharmacy Pacific Fair in Broadbeach is an NDSS access point, so if you’re registered with the National Diabetes Services Scheme you can collect subsidised test strips, pen needles, pump consumables and glucose monitoring products from us. Just show your NDSS card or number at the counter; no appointment is needed. Our pharmacists can also help with meters, insulin storage and sick-day advice.

What is the NDSS?

The NDSS is an Australian Government initiative, administered by Diabetes Australia, that helps people with diabetes access subsidised products and support. You can learn more at ndss.com.au.

How do I register for the NDSS?

Registration needs a form signed by your doctor or credentialled diabetes educator. The GPs at Help Medical, an independent general practice located inside our store, can help. Once you’re registered, just show your NDSS card or number when you collect supplies.

Which NDSS supplies can I collect at Pacific Fair?

  • blood glucose test strips
  • urine and blood ketone test strips
  • pen needles and syringes
  • insulin pump consumables
  • continuous and flash glucose monitoring products, for eligible people

We stock products for all the major meter and monitoring brands, including Accu-Chek, FreeStyle, Contour and CareSens. If we don’t have your product on the shelf, we can order it in.

Medicines for diabetes, such as tablets and insulin, are prescription medicines and aren’t supplied through the NDSS. See prescriptions for how to send your script ahead.

How can our pharmacists support you?

  • disposing of sharps properly

No. The NDSS covers supplies such as test strips and needles. Medicines for diabetes are prescription medicines, so bring us your prescription or send your eScript ahead as usual.
